Stone

Merrily, merrily, merrily be
Down in the water there I see
An aged stone, cold and beckoning
There is my stone, my soul awakening.

Merrily, merrily, merrily be
Down I reach on bended knee
Into the coolness there to find
Something that calls and draws my mind.

Merrily, merrily, merrily be
There in warm sunshine I hold up thee
My stone so full of colour and dampened shine
I welcome you here and you are mine.

Merrily, merrily, merrily me
Here's a song I sing of we
Together travelling from here to there
Belonging in places that welcome prayer.
